A NatHERS assessment evaluates the thermal performance of a residential building and determines whether it achieves the minimum 7-Star energy rating required under NCC 2022.

NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) is the official system used in Australia to measure the thermal performance of residential buildings. The assessment simulates how a building performs under real climate conditions and assigns an energy rating between 0 and 10 stars.

Under the National Construction Code (NCC 2022), most new homes must achieve a minimum 7-Star NatHERS rating. This ensures that buildings maintain comfortable indoor temperatures while reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling.

At EcoMax Homes, we use accredited NatHERS modelling software to analyse important design elements such as insulation levels, glazing performance, building orientation, shading, wall construction, roof systems, and internal zoning of rooms.

If a design does not initially achieve the required rating, we provide practical recommendations to improve performance, such as adjusting insulation levels, improving window performance, or optimising shading elements.
